We saw this project and wanted to share! Check out Michigan Tech’s Planetary Surface Technology Development Lab using ODrives in their custom-built rover for NASA’s Break the Ice Challenge. The rover prototype was designed and built by a team of 20 undergraduate students in only one year. They are planning to compete at a NASA facility for a $1.5M prize pool in May of this year!

Check out this video of it trenching simulated lunar permafrost.
